5. Tallebudgera Creek

For those looking for a tropical vibe, Tallebudgera Creek is it. On a sunny day, the clear, turquoise waters will transport you straight to Hawaii. Perfect for swimwear brands or any shoot that needs that outdoor, natural light. One caveat, you MUST arrive early. This place is popular—especially in summer. If you arrive early, you’ll be treated to soft lighting as the sun pops over the trees. As day goes on and the sun moves directly above the water and you’re needing some shade, opt for one of the beautiful pandanus trees for a cool spot to capture more shaded moments. You can also walk over to Echo Beach on the opposite side for the charcoal-coloured rock formations, offering a contrast to the beach and sand vibe for more fashion or editorial-based shoots.

6. North Burleigh Beach

For a quintessential Aussie beach vibe, North Burleigh Beach is a must, especially at sunrise. The headland rocks at the north end are suprisingly underrated! At low tide, you can capture the stunning interplay of the sun against said rocks, casting a soft, golden glow. Again, we recommend an early trip to this spot, preferably midweek. This gem certainly isn’t a secret. North Burleigh is a classic, no-fuss location that delivers authentic, scenic beach shots. Even on a gloomy day, this one’s a winner.

7. North Kirra Beach

For a more intimate, romantic shoot, North Kirra Beach is ideal (especially for maternity photoshoots). The soft green sea grass offers a natural texture to photograph against, getting the couple to either sit amongst it or walk through it. Whilst golden hour at sunset is a personal favourite at this spot, no doubt sunrise will be just as a good. The reason I say sunset is ideal is because on a clear evening, the sky turns beautiful shades of pink with warm hues, giving you a perfect soft haze that glides over the city skyline. I would even go as far to say this is the perfect spot for couples who have just tied the knot and looking to do their wedding portrait session here. Photographers? Thank me later…

So there you have it folks, I might be bias as a resident of the beautiful Gold Coast, however it truly is filled with epic modern studios and natural beach settings. If you think I have missed a studio or outdoor location that needs to be featured? Drop me a line!
